For this term, students will be creating their own website using MS Word. On their site, they will learn about the basics of web building, what a homepage is, building an index page, adding hyperlinks and uploading onto a website. The information students will place on their website will be related to their "Wise Up" unit.
In the first week students are to design their home page. For future weeks students will create a frame for their index page and add information to these pages.
Follow these steps to set up your web page on MS Word.
1. Change from PRINT LAYOUT VIEW go to VIEW --> WEB LAYOUT VIEW
2. Change the colour of the page via PAGE LAYOUT --> PAGE BACKGROUND --> PAGE COLOUR
3. Insert WORD ART. Type your name followed by homepage.
4. Save your folder, in W: Create a new folder: YOUR NAME Webpage and save it as homepage and choose WEB PAGE.
5. Open it the file. If you have done it correctly, the file should open in Internet Explorer.
